Off days in 1977 for the Yankees mean player profile days on the blog. Here's a look at second baseman Willie Randolph.
Randolph first established himself in 1976, his first full year with the Yankees after he'd been acquired from the Pirates in 1975. He won the starting job in spring training, and for the next 13 seasons, he was New York's anchor in the middle of the defense, ultimately appearing in 1,694 games which ranks 12th in team history.
I'll be back tomorrow with another post as the Yankees headed off to miserably cold Municipal Stadium for a three-game weekend series against the Indians.
